Our tips for your security

Always act cautiously when sharing personal or financial information. Be suspicious of unexpected messages (whether e-mail, SMS or via apps) that request sensitive data or demand an urgent reaction. Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources. If you are unsure, verify the message by contacting the sender directly through official channels.

Create complex passwords that include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid information such as dates of birth or common words. Each account you have should have its own unique password. A password manager can help you store them securely and manage them more easily.

The best way to strengthen your security is to enable two-factor authentication (2FA). In this way, in addition to your password, the system asks for an additional verification – usually a one-time code sent to your phone or a biometric confirmation such as a fingerprint. This extra verification makes unauthorized access to your data much more difficult and protects you even if someone learns your password.

Be careful with all types of messages – whether you receive them via e-mail, SMS, messaging apps or other platforms. Always check who is sending you the message, especially if it seems unusual or demands a quick reaction. Instead of clicking on links you receive, type the official website address directly into your browser – this way you avoid fake pages and malicious redirects.

Make sure that your computer, phone, and security software are always updated to the latest versions. Regular updates remove system vulnerabilities that attackers could exploit and significantly strengthen the protection of your data and devices.

Regularly check your bank statements and transaction history so you can quickly spot any suspicious or unauthorized activity. Immediately report any suspicion or irregularity to the bank so that potential fraud can be prevented in time.

AI can create messages that look extremely convincing, whether text, video, or audio. Sometimes it can even mimic familiar people, including family members, to appear more credible. Be especially cautious when messages appear urgent or unusually well-crafted, particularly if they ask for sensitive information, and always verify them through trusted channels.

Regularly follow information about security risks through verified sources, such as official bank notifications. Understanding common fraud schemes, phishing tactics, and fraud patterns allows you to recognize potential threats and react in time, protecting your data and funds.

You can increase your online banking security by using secure networks. Never perform banking transactions over public Wi-Fi, as such networks carry a high risk of attacks and can compromise the security of your data.

Tips for payment card security

Keep your card safe

Never allow your card to end up in someone else’s hands. If you need another person’s help with banking, consider providing that person with their own card. For example, when paying in a restaurant, always keep your card in sight and never hand it over without supervision. Regularly check that your card is still in your possession.

Be careful when using your credit card online

Take care of your credit card details so you do not become a victim of phishing or identity theft via fake websites, e-mails or SMS messages.

Protect your bank card

Always keep your card in a safe place and make sure it does not bend, get dirty, or become scratched, as this can affect its proper functioning.

Protect your PIN

Never write down your PIN or keep it together with your card. Also, do not reveal your PIN even to trusted people, such as bank staff or the police.

Cover the keyboard when entering the PIN

When entering your PIN at an ATM or at a checkout terminal, make sure no one can see the numbers you type. You can use your other hand or your wallet to shield the keypad while entering your PIN.

Keep your distance

It is important to keep a distance from the person withdrawing cash from an ATM or paying at a store. People should respect your personal space, and you can ask them to step back if needed. If you still feel that someone is invading your space, cancel the transaction and use a different device.

Don't let yourself be distracted

When using a bank card or entering a PIN, it is important to stay focused, avoid conversations, and not allow anyone to “help” you. This is exactly how fraudsters obtain your information or money. If something seems suspicious, do not hesitate to simply cancel the transaction.
